    09-02-2009

MIAMI – September 2, 2009 – John E. Leighton of Leighton Law, P.A. was re-elected Co-Chairman of the Inadequate Security Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice, an organization of lawyers dedicated to promoting a fair and effective justice system.

The re-election was announced July 26 in San Francisco, at the Association’s Annual Convention, where Mr. Leighton gave a presentation entitled: “Direct Examination and Storytelling at Trial.” He also chaired and moderated the educational program for the Inadequate Security Litigation Group, and hosted keynote speaker Fred Goldman, father of Ron Goldman and plaintiff in the civil wrongful death case against O.J. Simpson.

During the same week, Mr. Leighton gave a presentation on “Resort Torts and Vacation Accidents” for the Melvin Belli Society Annual Seminar, and was appointed Marketing Chair for the Society on August 3. The Society’s purpose is to promote the international exchange of ideas among lawyers through meetings and education.

These appointments follow a previous announcement of Mr. Leighton’s re-election to a third term as Chairman of The Academy of Trial Advocacy, an invitation-only association of the nation’s leading catastrophic injury trial lawyers.
