$3,500,000 settlement – brain injury from motorcycle crash (Orlando)

Motorcyclists face a number of extra risks that other drivers don’t.  That doesn’t mean that they are necessarily at fault when there’s a crash, but they have less protection that if they were in a car.  Because motorists have nearly two tons of metal surrounding them, they have some protection when a driver makes a mistake.  In this case, a negligent driver ran into our client while he was driving his motorcycle in Orlando.

This 20 year-old man suffered serious brain injuries in a crash while he was operating a motorcycle.  He was not using a helmet, which Florida law requires for operators under the age of 21, and there was evidence by witnesses of speeding. Yet the Leighton Law team proved that the drive that hit him was at fault for failing to yield, making him at least partially if not completely at fault.  John Elliott Leighton obtained a confidential $3,500,000 settlement which will provide for lifetime care for this man. He is fortunate to have a very loving and active family who have worked hard to help him regain much of his pre-injury lifestyle.
