$550,000 Settlement – Student Molested by Teacher starstarstarstarstar

Children should never be injured at school.  But when a child is sexually assaulted by a teacher, it’s tragic.

John Leighton and Max Panoff obtained a confidential $550,000 settlement on behalf of a student who was sexually molested by her teacher while at school.  The teacher was not properly supervised, nor did the school take proper action against the teacher after they had reason to believe he was making inappropriate contact with students in the past.

The recovery will provide ample funds for this student to obtain counseling and additional support to assist in recovery from this traumatic event.  The teacher was fired and criminally charged and convicted and will never teach again. This is an example of negligent hiring and supervision of teachers, and a failure to provide proper care of our children while at school.
