$250,000 settlement – woman mugged in parking lot

Parking lots can be ideal locations for robberies and sexual assaults.  For that reason businesses who have parking have the same duty to those in the parking lot that they have to those inside the premises.

John Elliott Leighton represented a woman who was mugged in the parking lot of a furniture store as she approached the front door.  The woman was hit as the mugger took her purse, throwing her to the ground.  Mr. Leighton proved that the area was a high crime area and the store failed to provide a reasonable safe ingress and egress for customers. Ramsey v. Confidential store.

Leighton Law represents survivors of criminal assaults in parking lots, shopping centers, malls and office buildings.
