$140,000 settlement – Cruise Ship trip and fall

It is not uncommon for passengers on cruise ships to suffer falls.  That’s because, in part, cruise ships are designed differently than typical hotels.  Often the ships are not designed with the thought of how passengers would be walking.  In order to create a reasonably safe walking area, there should not be any raised walking surfaces without clear and adequate warnings.

Leighton Law’s John Elliott Leighton recovered $140,000 for a 50 year-old woman who tripped and fell on a major cruise line’s ship while vacationing.  The woman fell on a threshold and suffered a fractured arm.  The confidential settlement was reached during litigation.
