Confidential Settlement – Death of woman from surgical mistake

After an injury, a woman went to see an neurosurgeon about a surgical repair.  She needed a fusion of her cervical vertebrae, a common procedure.  The surgeon mistakenly lacerated her iliac artery and vein, causing massive bleeding and her death.  John Leighton brought a medical malpractice case against the surgeon who made the mistake.  A confidential settlement was obtained on behalf of her surviving family.  Est of A. v. Dr. and Hospital.
