$160,000 settlement – age discrimination starstarstarstarstar

A 62 year old woman making $45,000 per year as a fund raiser was abruptly fired by her boss, who said he needed to hire someone “younger who I can pay less.”  He told her “you should go work with old people.”  She brought suit under federal and state statutes precluding age discrimination in the workplace.  A confidential settlement of $160,000 was negotiated by John Leighton prior to trial.
