$100,000 settlement – cruise ship fall at pool

Since cruise ships are like floating hotels (really cities built as resorts), it is only logical that they have a duty to provide a reasonably safe place to walk.  A woman who was honeymooning with her new husband slipped and fell on the deck of a major cruise ship, suffering a torn meniscus in her knee.  The cruise line alleged that she had stepped in a wet area near the pool; the passenger claimed that the area should have been better maintained and a non-skid surface should have been applied to the surface.  John Elliott Leighton obtained a $100,000 settlement for our client prior to trial.
