Home » blog » $500,000 settlement – construction debris strikes worker
Our client was a plumber working on a new condominium project. He was walking between buildings when he was hit in the head and knocked unconscious. When he awaoke he saw concrete cores sitting on the ground next to him. John Leighton represented Clifton White and proved that there were employees on a balcony sweeping debris off the building. Although there was no direct proof, the evidence supported the fact that these concrete cores had been drilled out to place balcony railings. Mr. Leighton negotiated a $500,000 settlement prior to trial following the appellate reversal of a summary judgment entered in favor of the defendants. White v. Am Sprad, et al.
