$3,000,000 settlement – wrongful death (Citrus County)

What happens when a doctor abandons a patient?  They are left on their own.  The other doctors and nurses treating the patient have to guess at what the treatment plan was supposed to be.

This is what happened to one young mother of three girls.  She died because the surgeon treating her failed to communicate with the other doctors, and failed to act promptly to a very emergent situation.

John Elliott Leighton obtained a $3,000,000 recovery for the family of a 35 year-old woman who died as a result of medical malpractice.  The woman had pneumonia which caused a pulmonary artery aneurysm. The doctor properly diagnosed the aneurysm, which means it was something that could burst at any moment.  It was in a very dangerous place and was caused by the infection, making it something that required immediate treatment.  She was left untreated while the doctor went away, with no communication or plan to the other doctors.  The aneurysm ruptured after diagnosis but before appropriate treatment was provided. Citrus County, Florida. Estate of Frock v. Citrus Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Frock was survived by her husband and three young daughters, who now have a measure of financial security.
