    John Elliott Leighton obtained a $2,575,000 recovery for the death of woman given inappropriate medications in a hospital, causing a massive cardiac arrest and brain death.  The woman was given two medications that are strictly contraindicated for use together.  The health care providers at the hospital failed to review the list of medications already ordered and administered before committing the mistake.
