$500,000 verdict – premises liability shooting after robbery

John Elliott Leighton obtained a $500,000 verdict for the family of a shooting victim in Palm Beach County.  The death was caused by the robbery of a commercial premises, which morphed into a chase by the business’ manager. Salomon v. Austin Trading, et al. (Palm Beach County).  In a most outrageous case, the owner/manager of the store chased heavily armed thieves after they completed their robbery and nobody was injured.  By engaging the criminals in a high speed chase, the man’s actions were the cause of the death of our client, who was an innocent bystander.
