Confidential Settlement – Abduction and sexual assault

Leighton Panoff Law’s John Leighton represented a woman who was abducted from her car in the parking lot of a supermarket.  She was taken off premises where she was sexually assaulted.  Leighton brought suit against the supermarket and owner of the shopping center for negligent security, and obtained a confidential settlement prior to trial.

This case highlights the problem facing the public when stores fail to provide reasonable security. In this case it resulted in sexual assault and a kidnapping.  The only way to prevent this type of crime is to have reasonable security measures.
