Confidential Agreement – death of a woman due to a mistake in a cardiac procedure

A woman undergoing pericardiocentesis for cardiac tamponade died when the doctor punctured her heart during the procedure. John Elliott Leighton represented the woman’s estate and obtained a confidential settlement on behalf of her survivors. State of S. v. Dr. Doe.
