John Leighton, founding partner of Leighton Law, P.A., spoke to the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association for Justice (Arizona Trial Lawyers) in Tempe, Arizona on October 26, 2018.
Mr. Leighton spoke to over 150 lawyers at the Association’s annual Sidney T. Marable Advanced Trial Advocacy Conference. He spoke on Maximizing Damages in Serious Injury Cases, which included methods to communicate the client’s injuries to juries.
Mr. Leighton’s 90-minute speech included interactive communication with the experienced trial lawyers from Arizona, as well as examples of effective trial skill techniques.
As a 33-year veteran of the courtroom, as well as a national speaker and author, Leighton was able to convey the results of recent jury research.
This, combined with his own experience in trying cases, allowed him to bring together ideas to share with other lawyers on how to best present damage cases for those who are seriously or catastrophically injured.
Each year, the sidney marble trial advocacy conference features some outstanding regional and national speakers that want to share their knowledge with the advocacy community. This year was the 15th time the conference was made and among other prestige speakers, John Elliot Leighton was also speaking.
The conference gives members a great opportunity to network and connect with their fellow AZAJ members and enjoy some of the exhibitor sponsors. It was held at the beautiful Phoenix Marriott Resort Tempe at The Buttes and featured some breathtaking views of the hillside butte.
