Michael C. DeGori is a trial attorney whose practice focuses on personal injury including wrongful death, medical malpractice, birth injuries, negligent security, nursing home and assisted living facility negligence, premises liability and falls, construction site accidents, motor vehicle, motorcycle, bus, commercial carrier and trucking accidents, pedestrian victim accidents, cruise ship injuries, and other negligence cases.
Prior to working at Leighton Panoff Law, P.A., Mr. DeGori defended companies and insurance carriers which provides him with insight on the tactics and legal strategy these entities undertake in the ligation process. Mr. DeGori has appeared in jurisdictions across the State of Florida including in Federal court which further developed his aggressive litigation skills.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. DeGori attended the University of South Florida where he obtained a Bachelor of Sciences in Health Sciences with a concentration in Biological Sciences. Subsequently, Mr. DeGori attended Emory University School of Law where he obtained his Doctor of Law. While in law school, Mr. DeGori served on the Executive Board and participated on Emory’s Mock Trial Society where he was a semi-finalist in the prestigious Peter James Johnson National Civil Rights Mock Trial Competition. Also, Mr. DeGori volunteered with Emory Law’s Volunteer Clinic for Veterans, providing pro bono services to Veterans. During law school, Mr. DeGori was placed on the Dean’s list for various semesters and earned Pro Bono Commendations. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. DeGori was named a member of the Order of Emory Advocates, which is one of Emory Law’s most prestigious awards granted to students who exhibited excellence and attained high honor through the art of advocacy and persuasion.
In addition, Michael has been repeatedly selected by Florida SuperLawyers as a Rising Star lawyer, which includes less than 2.5% of the attorneys in the state.
