$250,000 Settlement – fall from construction site (North Carolina)

Our client was working on a construction site.  There had been a lack of safety rails on the 3rd floor area for weeks, and the client had been told to be careful.  One day he and his fellow workers were on that floor and he was carrying pipes and fell from the edge, suffered a back injury. John Leighton represented this man, and a case was brought against the general contractor in Charlotte, North Carolina where the fall occurred.  The case was tried and resulted in a hung jury and mistrial.  The case was settled prior to a second trial for $250,000.
