Heating Up: Negligent Security Seminar is a hit!

John Leighton presented the 7th annual Leighton Panoff Law Seminar Series at Heating up: Negligent Security – People+Premises+Data. The seminar was the first of its kind, incorporating lectures and substantive legal materials on negligent premises security, data privacy and data security as well as forensic accounting.  The program was presented at the American Airlines Arena in conjunction with the Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs NBA basketball game (current and immediate past NBA champions). Mr. Leighton, Card Fedde, CPA and Brandon Bowers spoke to the group of lawyers, IT specialists and members of the business community. Following the seminar, attendees were provided a private reception on the patio adjacent to the Arena where the Heat’s most recent NBA Championship Trophy (The Larry O’Brien Trophy) was on display and available to view. They then went in to the game to watch two of the top professional teams do battle on the court.

The seminar resulted in a the publication of “Heating Up! Negligent Security Seminar” published in the Daily Business Review.
