$850,000 settlement – slip and fall at hotel – fractured knee (Orlando)

The Orlando theme park area is filled with hotels only too eager to welcome vacationers to the Central Florida area.  One of the responsibilities that come with making a profit on tourists is the duty to provide a safe walking surface.

Our client, a nurse on vacation in Orlando, slipped and fell on rainwater which covered a painted walkway outside a major resort hotel. The flooring was not non-skid and there were no warning signs or cones out giving her an indication that this was a dangerous area.   She sustained a fractured patella that required a surgical repair.  She had previous injuries and surgeries to the knee which complicated her case.Leighton Panoff Law was able to prove that the hotel failed to meet the anti-slip standards required and failed to account for the amount of water that accumulated on the walkway.
