$5,000,000 settlement – Auto Crash Causing Bone Fractures (Broward County, FL)

Any car crash can do terrible harm.  But when the crash occurs at high speed the resulting collision can be disastrous.  In the case of one of our clients, she was a passenger in a car that was traveling on the Florida Turnpike.  As the car approached an overpass, a large truck attempting to make a u-turn blocked their path, leaving them with no time to stop.  The resulting crash destroyed the car and left this young woman with horrible fractures and neurologic damage.

John Elliott Leighton litigated this case involving a teenager who suffered serious orthopedic injuries when the car in which she was a passenger collided with a truck which had violated their right of way.  Prior to trial a $5,000,000 settlement was obtained to secure the future of this young lady.  Mr. Leighton had retained traffic reconstruction and biomechanical engineers to evaluate the crash and prepare reports on the cause.
