$3,500,000 settlement – brain injury from motorcycle crash (Orlando)

Motorcycle riders are particularly vulnerable when car drivers make mistakes.  In this case our client sustained severe injuries that were not his fault, but he will suffer for the rest of his life.

While driving in the Orlando area, our client was hit by a vehicle that came from a side street, destroying his motorcycle and throwing him across the roadway.  Accident reconstruction engineers determined that the driver completely failed to yield the right of way to our client.  The defense argued, without evidence, that our client was speeding.

The client was taken to the nearest trauma center, where he received acute care for his traumatic brain injury.  He was later transferred to a rehabilitation center for assistance with re-learning activities of daily living and physical therapy.

John Leighton obtained a $3.5 million settlement on behalf of a man who sustained severe brain injuries in the vehicle crash.  The defense also argued that the client was driving his motorcycle without a helmet, in violation of Florida law requiring motorcycle riders under 21 to use an approved helmet (he was just under 21).   The $3,500,000 confidential settlement will provide for the needs of this man for the rest of his life.
