$250,000 settlement – assault at apartment complex (Brevard County)

Apartment complexes require reasonable security.  Residents are entitled to safety when they are home.  Apartment managers and operators are in the best position to provide that security.

A woman living in a rental apartment was assaulted and choked by an unknown assailant who knocked on her door.  When she opened it she was attacked. She then retained Leighton Panoff Law to investigate a negligent security case.   Our client suffered from psychological trauma from the assault. The apartment complex denied any responsibility for security despite having a criminal element living there.  After filing suit against the complex and engaging in tenacious discovery, Max Panoff obtained a $250,000 recovery for our client. She was able to obtain the therapy she needed to help recover, as well as have some financial security for a move to a better home.
