$1,045,000 Settlement – Inadequate Security Case: Sexual Assault (Key West)

Hotels are often seen by criminals as an easy mark.  There is a lot of transiency, people coming and going.  There are many places to hide.  For the hotels that do not meet accepted security standards, there are many weak links in the security chain. John Elliott Leighton recovered a $1,045,000 settlement for a woman sexually assaulted at a hotel due to inadequate security in Key West. The woman was working at the hotel when she was assaulted and tied up in a hotel room. A confidential settlement was negotiated with the hotel chain based upon negligent security following Leighton’s win in court on a critical legal issue.
